Question

If a+5=10+b then a or b can be irrational

Open in App
Solution

dear student it is given that a+5 = 10+b
from that we get a - b = 5
the question says a or b can be irrational

but we know 5 is a rational number ...so if either a or b is a irrational number then their sum and difference will always be irrational..it cannot be a rational number ..so either of them cannot be a irrational number

for eg: let a be a irrational number
