Question

If a given mass of  gas occupies a volume of 100cc at 1 atm and at a temperature of 100°C. What will be its volume at 4 atm , the temperature being constant


Solution

P1=1atm
p2=4atm
v1=100cc
v2=?
By Boyles law,
p1v1=p2v2
1×100=4×v2
v2=100/4
    =25cc
