A refrigerator is a heat engine. Heat engine works on the principle that, it extracts heat from low temperature reservoir and transfer it to high temperature. If a refrigerator's door is kept open, heat dissipated in the room is more than that taken from the cooling chamber, therefore the room is heated if the door of a refrigerator is kept open.
