If Chalk contains Calcium, Carbon and Oxygen in the ratio 10:3:12. If in a stick of chalk, carbon is 3g, what is the weight of the chalk stick?

According to the given ratio, Chalk contains-
Weight of Calcium=10x,
Weight of Carbon=3x,
Weight of Oxygen=12x
And weight of carbon in the chalk stick =3 g
So,
3x=3 or x=1,
Hence,
Weight of chalk stick =10x+3x+12x
=10×1+3×1+12×1
=10+3+12
=25 g
