Question

If f(x + 2a) = f(x - 2a), then f(x) is,

A
a periodic function with period 4a
loader
B
a periodic function with period 2a
loader
C
a periodic function with indeteminate period
loader
D
a non periodic function
loader

Solution

The correct option is A a periodic function with period 4a
$$\because f(x+2a)=f(x-2a)$$
This ia the value at $$x=-2a$$
$$f(x-2a)$$ is the value at $$x=2a$$
$$\therefore$$ Distance between the point and X where values of function are equal$$=2a+2a=4a$$
$$\therefore$$ f is a periodic function with period $$4a.$$
