Question

If one angle of parallelogram is 36 degree less than twice itsadjacent angle then, find the angles of a parallelogram.

Solution

Sum of adjacent angles of a parallelogram = 180 degrees.
Let one of the angles be x degrees. Therefore the second angle = 2x - 36.
  x + 2x - 36 = 180
3x = 216 or x = 72 degrees.
Hence the angles are 72 degrees and 108 degrees.
check : 2 × 72 - 36 = 144 - 386 = 108 degrees which is the second angle.
