If r1 and r2 be the radii of two metallic spheres and if they are melted into one solid sphere, prove that the radius of the new sphere is (r31+r32)1/3.

Given,
If r1 and r2 be the radii of the two metallic spheres.
Volume of sphere having radius r1 is V1=43πr31
Volume of sphere having radius r2 is V2=43πr32
If the two spheres are melted to form one solid sphere of radius R then,
Volume of sphere of radius R= Volume of sphere of radius r1+ Volume of sphere of radius r2
43πR3=43πr31+43πr32
43πR3=43π(r31+r32)
R3=(r31+r32)
R=(r31+r32)1/3
Hence, radius of new sphere is (r31+r32)1/3
