Here,
P(A)=14
P(B)=74, and
P(A and B)=514

For events A and B to be independent,
P(A and B) = P(A)×P(B)

Now, check for the given events:
P(A)×P(B)=14×74=1×74×4=716

But it is given P(A and B)=514

Hence, P(A and B) P(A)×P(B)
