Question

If the height of the triangle is $$ \sqrt 3 $$ times of its base, then find the polynomial which represents the area of the triangle.

Solution

Let the base of triangle is  x
and height of triangle is  h
According to question,
                $$h=$$ $$\sqrt { 3 } $$$$x$$
Area of Triangle $$=$$ $$\frac { 1 }{ 2 } $$$$\times $$$$base\times height$$
                             $$=$$ $$\frac { 1 }{ 2 } $$$$\times $$$$x\times h$$
                             $$=$$ $$\frac { 1 }{ 2 } $$$$\times $$$$x\times$$$$\sqrt { 3 } $$$$x$$
                             $$=$$  $$\frac { \sqrt { 3 } { x }^{ 2 } }{ 2 } $$
So required polynomial   $$=$$  $$\frac { \sqrt { 3 } { x }^{ 2 } }{ 2 } $$
