Open in App
Solution

Given five observations are,

x,x+2,x+4,x+6 and x+8.

Mean of the observations (¯x)=11

Since,

Mean (¯x)=Sum of observationsNumber of observations

x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+85=11

5x+205=11

5x+20=55

5x=5520

5x=35

x=355

x=7

Therefore, the value of x is 7.
