Given that the ratio of number of boys and girls in a class = 7:9

$∴$ Let the number of boys = 7 $x$ and number of girls = 9 $x$

The number of girls more than boys = 14 (given)

$\Rightarrow$ 9 $x$ - 7 $x$ = 14

$\Rightarrow$ 2 $x$ = 14

$\Rightarrow$ $x$ = 7

$∴$ Number of boys = 7 $x$ = 7 $\times$ 7
