i) there is an increase of 20% on the original price?

ii) there is a decrease of 10% on the original price?

Correct Answer
A

60, 45

Your Answer
B

75, 80

Your Answer
C

45, 60

Your Answer
D

80,75

Solution

The correct option is A

60, 45

i) When there is an increase of 20% in the price, the increase in price is:
= 20100×50=10
Therefore, the new price of diesel is: (50 + 10) =  60

ii) When there is a decrease of 10% in the price, the decrease in price is:
= 10100×50=5
Therefore, the new price of diesel is: (50 - 5) = 45
