Solution

We know that, each angle of a rectangle is 90°.
So, the angles (x + 30)° and (y + 50)° has to be equated to 90°.

(x+30)°=90°x=90°30°=60°x=60°

(y+50)°=90°y=90°50°=40°y=40°

x+y=60°+40°=100
y+50°=40°+50°=90
