If x=a,and y=b is the solution of the equation 2x+y=3 and x-y=3. Find the values of a and b.

2x+y=3 ..........(1)
x-y=3................(2)
Adding 1 and 2
3x=6
x=6/3=2
​​​​​​substituting in (2) we get
2-y=3
y=2-3=-1
Hence x=a=2 and y=b=-1
