Question

If you put a bat on one pan of the weighing balance and a ball on the other pan. Which side will go down and why?

Open in App
Solution

The pan which contains the ball will go up and the pan with the bat will move down. This happens because the object with more weight will always lift the object with less weight on a weighing balance. Hence the object with more weight will move down and the object with less weight will move up.
