Question

In a house, $$3$$ fans of $$200$$ watt each are used for $$12$$ hours per day, a TV of $$500$$ watt is used for $$10$$ hours per day, $$4$$ bulbs of $$60$$ watt each are used for $$8$$ hours per day. Find the electric bill for the month of $$30$$ days if the cost of one unit is Rs. $$2.20$$.


Solution

Power of consumption of $$ 3 fans = 3\times 200 \times 2 = 0.6 kWh$$
Power comsuption of 4 bulbs $$= 4\times 60\times 8 = 0.24kWh$$
Power comsuption of television = $$0.5 \times 10 = 5kWh$$
Total comsuption of power per day = $$0.6 + 0.24 + 5 = 14.12kWh$$
Power consuption in 30 days $$= 14.12\times 30 = 423.6 kWh$$
Bill fot time period of 30 days $$= 423.6\times 2.20 = Rs. 931.92$$
