One of the acute angle exceeds the other by ${20}^{\circ }$

So,

$x-y=20$ ................... (1)

The sum of all angles of a triangle is ${180}^{\circ }$

So,

$x+y+90=180$

$x+y=180-90$

$x+y=90$ ...................... (2)
