In an isosceles triangle $$AB=AC$$ and $$\angle B=65^o.$$ Which is the shortest side?


Solution

As $$AB=AC$$
$$\Rightarrow \angle B=\angle C=65^o$$ [Opposite angle to equal sides are equal]
$$\therefore \angle A=180^o-65^o-65^o=50^o$$
The side opposite to the shortest angle is the shortest. 
$$\therefore BC$$ is the shortest side.
