Question

In cathode ray experiment why does only electron move to protons

Why not protons move to electron?  Please tell me now because I have test tomorrow?

Solution

Cathode rays travel in straight lines in the absence of electrical or magnetic fields. These rays behave like negatively charged particles in the presence of electrical or magnetic fields. This suggests that cathode rays consist of negatively charged, sub-atomic particles – electrons.since cathode rays have only negative charge and proton is of posituve charge protons dont move
