In Fig., two parallel lines $l$ and $m$ are cut by two transversal $n$ and $p$. Find the value of $x$ and $y$.

In given figure, $l$ parallel to $m$ and $p$ is a transversal.

$\therefore x+{60}^o={180}^o$ ... Co-interior angle

$\Rightarrow x={180}^o-{66}^o={114}^o$

Now, $l$ parallel to $m$ and $m$ is a transversal.

$\therefore y+{48}^o={180}^o$ ... Co-interior angle

$\Rightarrow y={180}^o-{48}^o$

$\Rightarrow y={132}^o$

Therefore, $x={114}^o$ and $y={132}^o$
