The correct option is C parallel and equal

In ABCD is a parallelogram,


We know that ABCD

Here AC is a transversal for the parallel lines AB and CD

So, BAC=DCA [Alternate interior angles are equal] ...(1)

Similarly, we know that BCAD

BCA=DAC ...(2)

In ABC and ADC,

We have BAC=DCA [From ( 1 )]

AC is the common side

BCA=DAC [From ( 2 )]

So, ABCCDA [As per ASA Congruence rule]

AB=CD and BC=AD [Corresponding sides of congruent triangle are equal ]

Hence, both pairs of opposite sides in a parallelogram are parallel and equal.
