In the adjoining figure,$$p\parallel q$$. Find the unknown angles.

Solution

If $$p \parallel q$$ then 

$$125^{\circ}+\angle e=180^{\circ}$$ (linear pair)

 $$\angle e=55^{\circ}$$ 

$$\angle f=55^{\circ}$$  (vrtically opposite angles) 

$$\angle a=\angle e$$  $$(p \,  parallel \  to\,  q)$$ 

$$\angle a=55^{\circ}$$ 

$$\angle d=125^{\circ}$$  $$(p \,  parallel \,  to\,  q)$$ 

$$\angle c =\angle f=55^{\circ}$$ 

$$\angle b+\angle c=180^{\circ}$$ (linear pair). 

$$\angle b=125^{\circ}$$
