In the circuit shown below, calculate the value of x if the equivalent resistance between the points A and B is $4 Ω$ .

= 4 ohm
= 8 ohm
= x ohm
= 5 ohm
$r^{'} = r_{1} + r_{2} = 4 + 8 = 12 Ω$

$r^{''} = r_{3} + r_{4} = (x + 5) Ω$

$1 fourth equals 1 over 12 plus fraction numerator 1 over denominator x plus 5 end fraction$
$1 over 6 equals fraction numerator 1 over denominator 5 plus x end fraction x equals 1 space o h m$
