The correct option is C 5 V
Let us consider the positive and negative half cycles seperately.
Positive half cycle:


Current passes from A to B. There will be no current through the diode D1 as it is reverse biased. Hence we can replace it with an open switch. While current passes through the diode D2 and we can replace it with a closed switch.

Negative half cycle:


Current passes from B to A. There will be no current through the diode D2 as it is reverse biased. Hence we can replace it with an open switch. While current passes through the diode D1 and we can replace it with a closed switch.

If we observe carefully, both the cases are similar and the equivalent circuit diagram can be represented as shown below and we are required to find the maximum V0


The maximum V0 corresponds to the maximum alternating current which is 10 V.
i0=10(2+2)×103=1400 A
Hence, V0=i0×2×103=1400×2×103
=5 V
