$\because DC||ABandAB$ is produced to F and DC is produced to G

$\therefore DG||AF$

$\because$ Rectangle $ABCD$ and $||gmCDEF$ are on the same base CD and between the same parallels, and $||gms$ on the same base and between the same parallel lines have equal area.

area $\left(||gmCDEF\right)=area(rect.ABCD)$ [$\because ABCD$ is a rectangle]

$\therefore$ area $\left(||gmCDEF\right)=48c{m}^2$
