Solution

The correct option is C

1/12

We first find the total number of elements in the sample space. We will then find the number

of favorable outcomes.

Since the events are equally-likely, we can write the probability as Number of favorable outcomestotal number of outcomes

When we throw a pair of dice, there are a total of 36 outcomes. [(1,1),(1,2).....(5,6)....(6,1)....(6,6)]

We want only those outcomes in which the sum of numbers is 7 and the first number is an odd

number.

The favorable outcomes are (1,6),(3,4) and (5,2).

So the number of favorable outcomes =3

Probability=336

=112
