Solution

The correct option is D Rays
Sieve tube consists of conductive elements of phloem, known as sieve tube elements, which lack nucleus but retain protoplast during differentiation. Tracheid is the fundamental single elongated dead cell of xylem with pitted end walls. It lack nucleus and cytoplasm upon maturity and serve to provide mechanical support to organ where no other supportive fibres are present. Differentiation of tracheids in vessels includes increase in diameter and large perforation at walls. Vessels are also dead elements of xylem. Rays are the parenchymatous cells arranged radially in pith and are living cell with active nucleus and functional protoplast. Thus, option D is the correct answer.
