Question

Is $$x=-3$$ and $$y=4$$ a solution of $$2y+3x+1=0$$

Solution

Substituting x = -3 and y = 4 in the LHS of the equation

LHS = 2y +3x +1
        = 2(4) + 3(-3) +1
        = 8 -9 +1
        = 0
        = RHS

Since x = -3 and y = 4 satisfies the given equation
Therefore, x = -3 and y = 4 is the  solution of the equation.
