Let, Laxmi's age be $x$ years
$∴$ Laxmi's father's age $= 4 + 3 x$
A.T.Q,

$49 = 4 + 3 x$
$⟹ 3 x = 49 - 4$

$⟹ x = \frac{45}{3} = 15$

$∴$ Laxmi is $15$ years old.
