Solution

The correct option is A Gonadotropin hormones
Glucocorticoids/ cortisol prepare the body for long-term stress response by stimulating anti-stress mechanisms which include stimulation of protein and fat metabolism, reduced inflammation etc. Thus, it is called anti-stress hormone. Thus, option A is incorrect. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) promotes spermatogenesis in seminiferous tubules of male and follicle development in females. LH stimulates production of sex hormones by gonads. Since both LH and FSH act on gonads, they are known as gonadotropins. Hence, option B is correct. Epinephrine and norepinephrine are the secreted by adrenal medulla under an emergency condition to prepare the body for flight or fight response and hence are known as emergency hormones. Thus, option C is incorrect. Neurohormones are the one which is secreted by specialized nerve cells rather than by endocrine glands and are released into the bloodstream at nerve endings. Hence, option D is also incorrect. The correct answer is B.
