Just like we compare fractions by making the denominators equal, we can also do it by making the numerators equal.

The first fraction has 1 as its numerator and the second fraction has 2 as its numerator. Let's make both the numerators the same.

Calculate the equivalent fraction of 14 with 2 as the numerator.

=1×24×2=28m

The second fraction is 25 . Now, both the fractions have the same numerator.

If two fractions have the same numerator, the fraction with the smallest denominator has the highest value.

So, 25>28 or 25>14.

Thus, the sailor used more rope than Lobo.
