The correct option is A A - 2, B - 3, C - 4 and D - 1
The body of an organism defends itself from infections with the help of the immune system. Immune system has the ability to differentiate between the self cells and non self cells (pathogens) because of the presence of antigens. Immune system of an individual will not act against its own healthy cells in normal circumstances.
Monocytes are a type of large white blood cells with a kidney shaped nucleus in blood smears. They have a short life span and migrate to tissues to differentiate into macrophages. Macrophages are phagocytic cells with a long life span. They attack infected cells, phagocytose and kill them. They also help in removal of cell remnants.
Interferons are cytokine barriers produced by the virus infected cells. They prevent viral multiplication by interfering with the mRNA transcription. They signal the neighbouring cells to trigger their resistance mechanism to prevent viral invasions.

Lysozymes present in saliva and tears. Lysozyme destroys the bacterial cell wall by acting on the peptidoglycan. This results in the leakage of contents from the bacterial cell leading to their death.
