Graves disease is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones. It can cause bulging of the eyeballs.

Cretinism is a condition in which the thyroid hormone is secreted in lesser than normal amounts. The disease is commonly associated with maternal hypothyroidism and the symptoms include stunted growth.

Hypothyroidism is less secretion of the thyroid hormone. Symptoms are a low metabolic rate, sluggishness, sleeplessness, increase in body weight, hypertension, oedema etc.
