Solution
The sympathetic system is linked to a defensive response. It increases the body’s respiratory rate and adrenaline rush. This rush increases the heart rate, dilates the pupil and starts sending extra blood to the muscles so that the body can respond to the danger immediately. The body’s reaction to pain or fear is known as the 'fight or flight' response.
The parasympathetic system restores the body from stress caused by the sympathetic system, thus bringing the body back to its normal relaxed state. So when we are resting the body digests our food faster and keeps our heart rate normal.
