Humans have teeth with different morphology such as incisors, canines, premolars and molars and hence, are known as heterodonts. We have four different types of teeth performing different functions that starts the digestion process. Incisors help in cutting and biting the food whereas canines are specialised to tear the food. Whereas premolars and molars help in crushing and grinding the food.
