Question

Minimise Z=3x+2y
subject to constraints:
x+y8
3x+5y15
x0,y0

Open in App
Solution

Given:z=3x+2y
subject to constraints:
x+y83x+5y15x0y0 (1st quadrant)
First we will draw a graph for the constraints.
From the graph it is pretty clear that the three regions are disjoint.Hence for no value of x can the expression x=3x+2y be minimized .There is no domain for us to work with.Hence for this question minimization of the expression under the constraints gives is not possible.
