Question

μ1,μ2 are the refractive indices of two media A and B. If μ1>μ2, when two light rays travel from air to medium A and air to medium B with the same angle. of incidence then the angle of refractions are r1and r1 respectively. What is the relation between r1 and r2?

Solution

The correct option is B r1<r2
It is to be noted that refractive index of a medium is directly proportional to angle of deviation i.e. if a medium is optically denser then the light will bend more towards the normal.

if μ1>μ2 then r2>r1 as for μ1 light will bend more towards the normal.
