Question

Multiply 821x2y3 by716xy2 and verify your result for x=3 and y=2.

Open in App
Solution

We have to multiply, \(\dfrac{-8}{21}x^{2}y^{3}\) by \(\dfrac{-7}{16}xy^{2}\)

=821x2y3×716xy2

=821×716x2xy3y2

=13×12x2+1y3+2 [Since, am×an=am+n]

=16x3x5

821x2y3×716xy2=16x3x5

Now, lets verify the result for x=3 and y=2

LHS =821x2y3 by716xy2

=821(3)2(2)3×716(3)(2)2

=821×716×(3)2(2)3(3)(2)2

=13×12×9×8×3×4

=3×4×3×4

=144

RHS =16x3x5

=16×3325

=27×326

=9×16

=144

Therefore, LHS = RHS.

Hence, Verified.
