N-type material:-

  • Group-14 elements, members of the carbon family, are used to make semiconductors.
  • For creating N-type semiconductors, the dopant atoms are selected from the Nitrogen Family (Group-15). For example: Phosphorus (P1531), Arsenic (A3375s), Antimony (As51121).
  • For creating P-type semiconductors, the dopant atoms are selected from the Boron Family (Group-13). For example: Boron (B511), Arsenic (Ga3170).
