Three types of phyllotaxy are alternate, opposite and whorled.
Alternate phyllotaxy: The type of arrangement where a single leaf arises from a node in an alternate manner is called alternate phyllotaxy.
Opposite phyllotaxy: The type of arrangement where two leaves develop from a single node opposite to one another is called opposite phyllotaxy.
Whorled phyllotaxy: The type of arrangement where more than two leaves arise from a single node and forms a whorl or circle around the node is called whorled phyllotaxy.
