The lawmaking body of the Union Government is called the Parliament. In India, it is bicameral in nature. It consists of Lok Sabha (House of the People) and Rajya Sabha (Council of States). The members of the Parliament are the representatives of the people who are elected directly in case of Lok Sabha and indirectly in case of Rajya Sabha.
