Two main allotropes of sulphur are yellow orthorhombic sulphur (α-sulphur) and monoclinic sulphur (β-sulphur).
Orthorhombic sulphur is more stable at room temperature(below 369K) while above this tempearture orthorhombic sulphur is converted into monoclinic sulphur.
