hydrogen from dilute acids, and the metals that
cannot, we have to compare the reactivities of the
respective metals to that of hydrogen using the
reacitvity series.
  • The metals that are present above hydrogen displace it from an acid. For example: Iron, zinc
  • The metals that are present below hydrogen cannot displace it from an acid. For example: Copper, silver
