Solution

The correct option is

D

10, 4

Carbon has a valency of 4.
If a single bond is formed by a carbon atom with a carbon atom, then 3 remaining valencies are occupied by hydrogen atoms. So it will have 3 C-H bonds.
If three single bonds are formed by a carbon atom with three other carbon atom, then 1 remaining valency are occupied by hydrogen atoms. So it will have 1 C-H bond.
If a single and a triple bond is formed by a carbon atom with two other carbon atoms, then its outermost shell is completely filled. So it will have 0 C-H bonds.
therefore, the number of C–H and C–C single bonds respectively in the structure are 10 and 4.

The name of the molecule is 4-methyl-pent-2-yne
