One formula unit of MgBr2 is one Mg+2 ion and two Br-1 ions and one formula unit of water is one H2O molecule.why one unit of water is written in the form of molecule where as MgBr2 is written in form of ions??

Water is a Covalent covalent compound because it is formed by sharing of electrons between O and H atoms. H2O is a covalent compound. It has twocovalent bonds, each connectes the oxygen atom with hydrogen atoms. H2O is a polar covalent compound.
whereas MgBr2 is a ionic compound here Mg and Br are joined by ionic bond that is why it is like that
