Open in App
Solution

Solution:-
K3[Fe(CN)6]-
Oxidation number of potassium (K)=+1
Oxidation number of cyanide ion (CN)=1
Let oxidation number of Fe be x.
As we know that sum of oxidation state of ll the atoms in a compound is equal to the overall charge on that compound.
3(+1)+x+6(1)=0
2+x6=0
x=63
x=+3
Hence the oxidation state of Fe in K3[Fe(CN)6] is +3.
