A block of wood floating on water with its dimensions 50cmx50cmx50cm inside water when fully immersed in it. calculate the volume of the body and the upthrust on body and the apparent weight of body in water

Volume of body = 50 cm × 50 cm × 50 cm
= 0.5 m × 0.5 m × 0.5 m
= 0.125 m³
Upthrust = Weight of displace water
= (Volume of block × density of water) × g
= (0.125 × 1000) × 10
= 1250 N
Apparent weight = Weight of body – upthrust
