(a) Atmosphere act as blanket because it maintains the average temperature of earth. It protects us from the harmful rays of sun such as ozone shield that protects us from UV rays coming from sun. when meteors and asteroids enters in the earth's atmosphere then they gets burnt due to the friction of atmospheric layers. Thus, atmosphere also protect us from meteors and asteroids.
