1 a change in colour is observed

2 a gas is evolved3 sound is produced

Solution

1. When copper sulphate solution, which is blue in colour is treated with Zinc, the colour of the solution changes from blue to colourless.

The balanced equation for the above reaction is as follow:

CuSO4 (blue in colour) + Zn → Cu (s) + ZnSO4 (Colourless)

The Zincsulphate thus formed is colourless.

2. Evolution of a gas which burns with a pop sound can be observed when zinc is treated with Hydrochloric acid.

The balanced equation for the above reaction is as follow:

Zn + 2 HCl → ZnCl2 + H2

The hydrogen gas thus formed is highly flammable and burn with a pop sound when a burning matchstick is bring closer to the test tube.
