Solution

Nepal was a monarchy where political powers were vested in the monarch. He enjoyed absolute authority. The constitution of Nepal which came into being in 1990 gave supreme powers to the king. But the people revolted for a change as they wanted a democratic government where powers will not be vested in one person.

Hence, the People's Movement continued to struggle for a change in the government which finally ended in 2006.A new democratic constitution was evolved where democratic ideals were embodied which the people wanted and for which they had fought for a long time. They wanted to abolish monarchy and promote democracy where rights of the individuals will be acknowledged.
